What is the Independent Mental Health Network?

The Independent Mental Health Network (IMHN) is a membership-led organisation that represents a diverse community of past, current and future users of mental health services, as well as those with lived experience of mental health.

By working together, we believe that we can be a force for positive change in the way that mental health is treated, perceived, and recognised.

Current and Recent Projects

IMHN is delivering the Shine On suicide prevention and awareness campaign.

Earlier this year, we ran a day-long Suicide Prevention Summit. Over 140 people came together to discuss working together to address the issue of suicide. Read more here.

IMHN members in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire are currently representing the network at partnership meetings responding and tackling the rise in mental ill-health as a result of the Coronavirus.

IMHN’s Bristol branch, BIMHN, is the lead partner of the Bristol Time to Change Hub.

The Hub leads locally on challenging mental health stigma in the community and the workplace by running training, activities, events, and local Time to Change Champions.
